Show your American pride by knitting this cloth with the American flag. This knit dishcloth pattern has a picture of the flag on it. The flag has 13 stripes and uses moss stitch to create stars in the upper corner — although there are not quite 50 of them. This design uses a variety of techniques to create the picture, including garter stitch, reverse stockinette, and moss stitch.
The design is symmetrical, so no adjustments need to be made for lefty knitters.
As mentioned, this cloth is different than my others. For those of you familiar with my garter stitch technique of every-other design rows, please note that this cloth is quite different. I have used garter stitch, reverse stockinette, and moss stitch to create the picture. The cloth requires careful attention to the pattern as every row is a design row. The border is seed stitch, but the pattern is written so that you may substitute a preferred border if you wish.
