Quail or Partridge Knit Dishcloth: A handmade knitted square in pink yarn featuring a quail in profile facing to the right. Quail or Partridge Knit Dishcloth Pattern

This cute little bird looks ready to scurry away! This knit dishcloth pattern is a picture of a quail in profile facing to the right. He has the distinctive curl of feather on top of his head that quails are known for.

Quails are very similar to partridges and this pattern does double duty! If you wish to knit a picture of a partridge, simply leave the feather out of the design.

The picture is created in garter stitch on a stockinette background. The border is seed stitch, but the pattern is written so that you may substitute a preferred border if you wish.

The design is not symmetrical so lefty knitters may need to make some adjustments depending on their knitting style and preference for which way the bird faces.
